Lead Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter - Patti Spadaro - Blog http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html Patti Spadaro: Blog Jannis' PHPRss class - http://www.jannis.to/ Sun, 01 Jan 2012 09:54:10 -0800 The ride of my life http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/the_ride_of_my_life Hi everyone, Happy 2012!  A new year means new beginnings, right?  I've decided to step up my blog for 2012.  I read in a book yesterday by Tama Kieves:  "This is the ride of your life".  Yep, this is it.  Right now.  I see myself zooming along on a bicycle through the beautiful countryside, using my own energy to propell me forward.  Enjoying the ride, and stopping to smell the roses.  Endulging in their beauty.  And somedays slowing down to explore the dark places.  That's OK too.  But the dark places are not places I want to dwell in for too long.  These are the places I'd like to leave behind. 


As the journey continues, I can steer, choose a new path, even circle around if I want to.  I can grip on tight during the rough patches, or walk along carefully with the bike, or speed up and enjoy the rush of air and rain against my face.  Appreciate the journey... thats what we are supposed to do, right?  Easier said than done during the rough spots. But, the road doesn't end in these rough places.  I'm learning ways to get though the bleak times easier.  I'm learning to look for the good stuff, inside and out. 


A caterpiller needs time in the cocoon before it can fly.  I've spent some time in the cocoon.  Its NOT fun.  But, I've emerged, and I'm testing out new wings, opening to new possibilities.  I don't know what the future holds.  I don't know how to create some of the things I want to create in this world.  I'm willing to ask for help and explore.  I'm also willing to look deep inside.  I'm willing to take some risks.  This is the ride of my life.  This is it.  Right here and now.  These moments are precious and fleeting.  Beauty exists.  I've seen it.  I've felt it.  I'd like to share it.

]]> http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/new_live_recordings_posted Wed, 12 Oct 2011 06:00:02 -0700 Lead Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter - Patti Spadaro - Blog Pittsburgh Blues Festival http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/pittsburgh_blues_festival I had a grand ol' time with the Pittsburgh Blues Women at the Pittsburgh Blues Festival July 22nd.  We played just after Kelly Richie, and had a wonderfully enthusiastic crowd.  Jill Simmons, Freddye Stover, Marcy Brown, Andrea Pearl, Cheryl Rinavato, Shari Richards and myself led a powerhouse band with dueling guitar solos, 4 part harmonies, and sweet & soulful melodies.  Despite some iffy weather, the crowd kept dancing & asking for more.

]]> http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/pittsburgh_blues_festival Sat, 23 Jul 2011 05:55:40 -0700 Lead Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter - Patti Spadaro - Blog Jim Donovan, Tertium Quid and Patti http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/jim_donovan_tertium_quid_and_patti The Art Case was pulsing with feel good energy Fri Night.  Jim Donovan and Tertium Quid Percussion Ensemble let loose with improvisational organic grooves.  I joined in after a few songs, and played the rest of the night with them.  I was definitely flying by the seat of my pants, having no idea where the music would lead or what was next.  Great fun!  The musical synergy was flowing.  And, there was so much heart and soul on the stage and in the audience.  I'm happy to be a part of it.

]]> http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/playing_with_houserocker_danny_gochnour Sun, 20 Mar 2011 17:02:01 -0700 Lead Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter - Patti Spadaro - Blog CD RELEASE PARTY! http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/cd_release_party Whew!!  The CD Release party was a smashing success!!  First, Women On Top (Cherylann Hawk, Jill Simmons, Andrea Pearl and Patti) played a short set of acoustic music.  Hearing these ladies sing harmony together gives me goosebumps!  Simply beautiful.  Then, Bill Toms and Hard Rain took the stage for a high energy, rousing set that got folks to their feet!  Next was the Patti Spadaro Band.  Patti, Eric, Ken and Jeff kicked off our set with a rocking version of "Live Out Loud" from the new CD.  Jill and Cherylann joined in on harmonies.  After a few tunes, Ken turned the bass over to Scooter Tamulinas, who finished off the first set with us.  Later, Bill Toms, Sudden Steve and Andrea Pearl joined us and the place erupted with funky, jammy, rockin' goodness.  What a fun time!!  We had a wonderfully enthusiatic crowd.  Many thanks to all who came out and made this an evening to remember. -Patti

]]> http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/cd_release_party Mon, 15 Nov 2010 10:12:31 -0800 Lead Guitarist/Singer/Songwriter - Patti Spadaro - Blog Blues Go Pink http://pattispadaro.com/blog.html/blues_go_pink I'm happy to announce that this year's Blues Go Pink show raised over $3,000.  That's enough money for Adagio Health to fund 300 mammograms and cancer screenings for uninsured PA women.  About 250 people came to the show.  The Patti Spadaro Band played a set with Jill Simmons, Andrea Pearl, Angelica Pietranton, Katie Simone and Cherylann Hawk taking turns joining us.  Other performers included Jill West and Blues Attack, Ms Freddye, Sweaty Betty, Ann Kerstetter and more.  Very nice to see such a great community of musicians and music lovers having fun and helping a worthy cause!
